So that you know, although it is important to meditate on God’s Word, there is no fixed way you should do it. However, I will give you some specific ways that I find useful to meditate about the word of truth in your daily life.

  • Choose a single fresh or short passage. This can be a passage of Scripture that stood out for you while making your Bible reading or one that is used in a devotional one. Sometimes if you go through a difficult time, a Bibleers can stand out in a way that it has never had before.
  • To pray. Take the time to ask God to reveal his truth to you. The most important thing is that you are looking for God’s truth about something and not what you want it says. Ask the Holy Spirit to guide you.
  • Read and read the verse or the verses several times. A great way to do this is to emphasize different words in the passage every time you read it.
  • Look for what it tells you. Looking for things about God, his attributes, laws, working, etc. Does the promises of God give? Can there be instructions to follow? Did it be a shame to confess? Look for truths about how God wants you to live. If you are Bible journaling, write down what you notice.
  • Pray back to God what you just learned. Ask him to change with what you have learned. He is worthy of praise, so also praise him for his character and wonderful works.
  • Consider writing the verse on a map and placing it where you will see it all day. This is another creative way to really meditate about the Word of God. As you see the card, you can continue to meditate about what God teaches you.
