When I grew up, I remember the excitement around the Christmas celebration. We would bake a dozen types of Christmas cookies, spend time figuring out which gifts were ours under the Christmas tree, and even quote Luke 2: 1-14 before they opened gifts.

I knew that Jesus was the reason we celebrated, but I was certainly entangled in the other things. He was not my biggest gift. Now that I am older, I want more and more Keep Christ in Christmas. I want my own children not to be as materialistic as me, but it is so difficult in current culture. . . Even Christian culture.

How do you keep Christ in Christmas?

So how do you keep Christ in Christmas? What does Christian mean to keep Christmas? These are the questions we are going to tackle today. Let’s build houses that focus on the birth of Jesus during the Christmas season. After all, is that not what Christmas is for?

Keeping Christ in Christmas means that Jesus is central in the Christmas season. It means that you keep Jesus the focus of the Christmas season and that’s it. By keeping Christ in Christmas, you will be less distracted by the commerce in which the world participates.

The best way to keep Christ in Christmas is by being targeted versus following the current. By being deliberate about the activities you do, what you talk about with your family, the traditions in which you participate and how you spend your time, you participate in the true spirit of Christmas. You choose things that focus on Jesus or spend time with family instead of things that are only frivolous or bring stress.

What does the Scripture say about celebrating Christmas?

To be honest, there are not really no writings explicitly about celebrating Christmas. However, there are many Bible verses who talk about celebrating things that God has done, gratifying at the birth of Jesus and being grateful for the gifts that God has given us. If you look at all these verses, you can conclude that Christmas is a great reason to celebrate and that we can honor God in our celebration.

These first few verses are just examples of how God wanted the Israelites to celebrate certain important events in their history. These were ordered by God! He also wanted them to celebrate their hard work.

“Also that everyone has to eat and drink and have fun in all his toil – this is God’s gift to man.” Preacher 3:13

The following Bible verses are great to talk about why we celebrate Christmas. We must look forward to the birth of the Savior of the World. We have to fall and worship. We must also thank God for his “unspeakable gift!”

“And you will have joy and joy, and many will look forward to birth,” Luke 1:14

“And went into the house, they saw the child with Mary his mother, and they fell down and worshiped him. Then they open their treasures, they offered him gifts, gold and incense and myrrh.” Matthew 2:11

“Thank you very much for his unspeakable gift!” 2 Corinthians 9:15

Keep Christ in Christmas ideas

Agree! Now it’s time for tangible ways for Keep Christ in Christmas This year and every year. If you have more great ideas, let me know in the comments. There are really many ways in which you can concentrate on Jesus and others this season, but these are some big ones.

1. Celebrate the Advent season

The Advent season is the four weeks or so prior to Christmas and is a time of preparation. By concentrating on Jesus during the Advent season, Christmas Day will be much more meaningful. You could try to read differently Adventcripts Or by one Advent -Devotional Like a family.

2. Plan a Christmas service project

A great way to keep Christ in Christmas is by doing a Christmas service project as a family. Serving others who have a real need is an easy way to get the focus of yourself. This can be something like serving a meal in your local homeless shelter or food bank, Angel Tree, Operation Christmas Child, Toys for toSOr something similar. Perhaps your church knows a family in need that you could also bless. This surprising gift of services will be a blessing for others and show them Christ -like love.

There are many Christmas activities available to do, but deliberately be about finding those who focus on the story of Jesus and God’s love. For example, go to a ecclesiastical Christmas Eve service, concert or play. Maybe you can find a live birth scene in your area. Another idea is to watch a Christmas film that focuses on the true meaning of Christmas with your relatives. These are simple ways to remember the true reason we celebrate.

4. Point out Christian symbolism in Christmas decor

It is amazing for me how much Christian symbolism is in Christmas decor. There is much more than I even realized. For example, a Christmas wreath represents the eternal life that we have in Christ. The colors green and red also represent a new life in Christ and the blood of Jesus respectively.

The Story of the candy cane Is another great meaningful decoration that represents Jesus and what He did for us, while Christmas lights and candles represent Jesus as the light of the world. These simple memories are a special way to make Jesus the central focus of your life in this season.

5. Decorate with items that concentrate on Jesus

To be honest, I really like snowmen. However, they do not bring the focus to Jesus (unless it is a birth painting of Snowman). Now things like Bindings sets” Jesse -TreesAngels and decorations with Christian symbolism certainly indicate Jesus. If you want to keep Christ in Christmas, you have to concentrate on these things instead of Santa Claus, Elves and Rudolph.

6. Give a gift to Jesus

Because we celebrate the birthday of Jesus, a great way to keep Christ in Christmas to give him a gift instead of just spoiling your children. Let your entire family be involved in coming up with ideas. What would Jesus want this holiday season? One of the service projects mentioned above would be a great gift to give Jesus as a family! Other ideas can be something that you distract from the time with him, choosing a trait or discipline that you struggle with to work on for his glory. Allow your family to keep you responsible for everything you choose. If you have other ideas, let them fall into the comments.

7. Read the Christmas story for gifts

When the Christmas morning starts, children chew at the point. . . What? Open their presents of course! However, if you start a tradition of reading the Christmas story before you open gifts, this can again center their perspective on the birth of Christ. Remind them what Christmas is about and why we even exchange gifts on this day.

You can choose to just read a short part of Luke 2Or as my husband likes to do, you can choose to read what all the gospels say about the birth of Jesus. Our youngest children can color or do something quietly while he reads and Than We will open gifts.

Keep Christ in the conclusion of Christmas

As Christians it is so important to us to keep Christ in Christmas and not to be distracted by the commercialism of our time. The birth of Jesus Christ sets the stage for his later life, death and resurrection. What are some ways in which you keep Christ in Christmas? I would like to hear your comments!

Check the other Christmas titles below. Christmas is a special time to prepare your own heart and that of your family for the true meaning of the season.
