We cherish our mums on the home -filled home. Whether we call you nannie, meema or just mama, you deserve an extra special treat on Mother’s Day. Occasionally you can find real charcuterie -letters or figures that have already been cut at your local artisanal stores, but no worries if you can’t. Grab your craft knife, cut around the top of the cardboard letter edges and remove any support pieces to give you enough space to pamper the special lady in your life.
Ingredients:
Colored tissue paper or parchment paper (optional)
1 cup of green olives
1 cup of Kalamata olives
24 slices of pepperoni
24 Salami -Plakjes
1 cup of Colby-Jack Cheese Cubes
1 cup of cheddar cheese cubes
1 cup of cashew nuts
12 Citroen Sandwich Cookies
12 mini cakes
6 Mini Strawberry Bundt Cakes (we use Hostess Baby Bundts)
1 cup of pretzels
3 mini blueberry muffins
1 cup of popcorn
Edible flowers (optional
Route description:
Start by covering the inside of each letter with colored tissue or parchment paper. This step is optional; However, it makes the display more beautiful and keeps the letters cleaner. I like to start by placing the olives in small serving scales and placing them in the letters. I then fill the spaces in the letters with the meat, cheeses and nuts, followed by the rest of the treats. To make it extra special, add a few of the favorite seasonal flowers of mothers as a garnish. What a great way to honor the wonderful women in your life.
The combination of letters or numbers is endless. Of course you can also use a number plate to celebrate a special birthday. When our favorite three -year -old this year had a birthday, we ordered chic cupcakes for her friends and filled in the rest of the areas with her favorite treats. It was a hit! One of my best friends used charcuterie numbers at her daughter’s graduation party.
