How can we renew our minds? As mothers it seems that the world is constantly throwing us new challenges and problems. All these things seem to be stacking each other together until we are not sure how to handle it all. The negativity starts to crawl. The truth is that God wants you to do that Renew your mind and develop the spirit of the Lord. Today I will share some tips for you!

Renewing your mind is not just about changing how you think; It is also about the attitudes and actions that will result from those thoughts. It means the use of the Word of God to think in a different way, with new ideas, perspectives and insights. Now let’s dive into what it means to renew your mind, Bible verses about the renewal of your mind and ways in which you can renew your mind!

What does it mean to renew your mind?

What does your mind renew? The Bible tells about how to renew our minds and renew our thinking. This means that we have to change the way we think, so that it is in line with God’s Word. Learn to recognize negative thinking patterns and instead turn it into what God says. We can change our thoughts through Bible study and prayer together with a few other ways.

Benefits of renewing your mind

If you wonder why you should renew your mind, there are actually many benefits for it. What happens in your mind has an influence on your emotions and actions, so renewing your mind will help to renew them. Here are some advantages for renewing the mind:

  • You will be able to fight the temptation better if you renew your mind with God’s Word.
  • Your thinking will change with negative thoughts such as worries and fear in positive thoughts such as faith and hope.
  • You will be changed from within while the divine power of the Holy Spirit works in your life.
  • You will now have a positive mindset because you are full of the truth of God.
  • The renewal of your mind gives your goal and direction.
  • Your faith becomes stronger if you put the lies aside.
  • You learn to respond how God wants you to become your thoughts like God’s thoughts.
  • You will be reinforced with God’s truth to lead Christian life.

If you have the Word of God in your heart, this will change the way you think. Changing how you think will change your actions and emotions that will transform your life. You can renew your Spirit by studying the Word of God in a systematic way with specific steps that you follow every day.

How you can renew your mind

Now that you have seen how important it is to renew your mind, let’s look at some practical steps of how you can really do that. This is important because the renewal of the Spirit will renew your life. This is not a solution at night, but change will take place on time if you make an effort to make some changes in your life.

Renew your mind daily

There are different things that you can do every day to renew your mind. If you struggle with negative and/or sinful thoughts, they will help you convert that mentality.

  • First day, pray over your day every day and ask God to renew your Spirit with His Word. By doing this every day, it will help to guide what you think about, as well as how you react all day.
  • Read the Bible every day. As you read, ask God to renew your Spirit and show you things that you have to change in your mind.
  • Write down the Scripture verses every day and meditate on it. This will help to implant the Word of God in your Spirit and Heart. It will really help if you remember these verses and turn them into biblical confirmations, which I do in my own life.
  • Find a good Christian book to read. Reading books by divine authors will help renew your Spirit with good thoughts and principles.
  • Listen to podcasts or sermons that help you concentrate on growing in your walk with God. It doesn’t take much effort to listen while performing your tasks of the day.

Renew your mind of negative thoughts

Caught negative thoughts! They can be harmful to your mind and soul, so you think things will not be the way they should. God has a plan for you that is good! When Satan comes with one negative thought after the other, the renewal of your mind will help to fight those lies back so that God’s truth rules.

If you want to know how you can renew your mind of negative thoughts, there are a few things you can do:

  • Recognize when bad thoughts come up in you and are a name for what they are.
  • Refuse to entertain the thought or to think about it.
  • Replace the negative thought by choosing a positive one to think about the truth of Scripture.
  • Write down your negative thoughts and then pray about them or meditate about Scripture that is corrective for that kind of thinking. This will bring the thought under the good work of the Holy Spirit.
  • Switch off the TV when you get home or turn it off and read a book or listen instead to an audiobibbel.
  • Listen to Christian music that is encouraging and praises the Lord.
  • Remember the Scripture that specifically relates to the thinking patterns you have. For example, if your old way of thinking is worried, meditate on a verse that deals with trust from God.

We can renew our Spirit by concentrating on what God says. What do you think about yourself? What are your thoughts about God, others and the situations around you? The renewal of our Spirit starts by concentrating on what God says instead of what culture says.

Philippians 4: 8 Is a perfect fresh to help us weigh away that we should not fill our mind with. Is it true? Pure? Sweet? Only because your Christian friend looks ____ (you fill in the blank), that doesn’t mean it’s right.

Steps to renew your mind

Here are some steps to help you renew your mind. We have already mentioned some above.

  • Start by renewing your mind with the Scripture every day. You can’t go wrong with this one! God’s ways is the only way to really overcome sin in our lives.
  • Write down and meditate on Bible verses that speak to you. You could start with those mentioned above. Pray that fresh about your life with a simple prayer.
  • Take every day to pray for God’s help in replacing your thoughts through truth.
  • Form a study plan that you will do every week to help renew your mind and encourage yourself in the Word of God. See some ideas below.
  • View what you allow in your mind through books, music, films and shows and social media. Does it push you to God? If not, it’s time to turn away from such things.

Renewing your Spirit Bible study

Perhaps you want to do a complete Bible study about renewing your mind. This can include measurements, reflections and journal prompts. This can be a different way to change the way you think you change by renewing your mind with God’s truth.
