The grave is empty! We worship and serve a living savior! While we are celebrating this good news this Easter season, it is important to remind ourselves what that empty grave really means. What are the implications for us that Jesus has indeed risen from the dead? The Bible describes various, including:
1. Because he has conquered sin and dying, Those who believe in Him will also live.
Jesus said to [Martha]”I am the resurrection and life. (John 11: 25-26).
2. He’s on the father’s right hand, where He mediates for us.
Who is the one who condemns? Nobody. Christ Jesus who died – more than that, raised for life – is on the right hand of God and is also intervening for us (Romans 8:34).
3. He prepares a place for us so that We will always be with him.
“My father’s house has many rooms; If that wasn’t, I would have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? And when I prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you with me that you can also be where I am “ (Johannes 14: 2-3).
4. He will return to establish his just government on the new earth, where His children will rule with him.
“The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord and his Messiah, and he will rule forever” (Revelation 11:15).
“Here is a reliable saying: if we died with him, we will also live with him; if we persist, we will also rule with him” (2 Timothy 2: 11-12).
These promises from Scripture are reason to rejoice, and I encourage you to put some time aside in the coming days to think why we celebrate Easter, to provide for what it will be like if these truths are fully realized and gods God for them. As you do, the living presence of our rise Savior and the prospect of his soon appearance can fill you with overcrowded joy.
Praise to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great grace he gave us a new birth in a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the death, and in an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade (1 Peter 1: 3-4).
