How to Plan Your Days as a Busy, Working Mom

Let’s talk about what you will do in a day.

Are you starting to think about what to do as soon as you wake up? I often make a list mentally while I am in the shower 🛁 or my hair dry.

I want to run the ground as soon as the children are out for school.

Some mornings you wake up with the energy to grab the day! You slept well, have energy and many ideas about all the things you want to achieve:

  • Finally make sure that large project that you have postponed.

  • Have your inbox cleaned up and sorted.

  • Make decisions about upcoming events and invitations.

  • Or just go organized and plan ahead for the coming month.

What happens so often is that time flies through ✈️. Your energy does not last as long as you thought it would do. You are interrupted and something that you do not expect to expect countries on your desk.

Or maybe you Are Really productive, but only a magician could have achieved all the things you posted on your list. 🪄

At the end of the day while you look at the list that you made that morning; Everything you can see are the things that Not done.

For so many women I talk to, this is a regular event.

More days than not they leave the work or go to sleep at night and feel defeated. They didn’t do enough. They feel “behind”.

No wonder we are so exhausted. We not only tell ourselves that we are not doing enough, but we are too to see It has not lost weight in any item at the end of the day.

But what is the alternative?

How do you get the Hamsterwiel of the defeat and actually achieves what is on your list?

You make a realistic plan.

When you made that list or filled your agenda with tasks, you first checked whether these tasks Actually fit in your day, or just wash heap They would?

Because there is a difference. And the difference is in How you feel At the end of the day.

You can feel defeated, frustrated and “behind”, or you can feel full, proud and satisfied.

Let me give you an example of what this looks like in practice:

  • While you think of all the things you could do, you start putting it on your running list. It is a kind of “brain dump” 🧠 species to get all options on paper (or in an app/digital doc).

  • Then look at your agenda. How much time do you actually have today?

By the time you drop the children or go to your desk, how much working hours do you have until you have to close and have the children?

If you have 3 hours of meetings + 30 minutes before lunch/breaks + 30 minutes for e -mail/interruptions = 4 hours that have already been “taken”

In a day of 8 hours you have 4 hours to fill with tasks, projects, etc. from your list.

  • Then you have to decide: what do you want to achieve with those 4 hours?

What is important? What will the greatest results yield or have the biggest impact? How much energy and focus do you have today? Which deadlines do you have today or is coming?

🎯 Your goal is to make a list for the day that you can completely close.

Have you ever looked at a task list that has been completely set off? It feels sooooo good. You have to try it.

⚠️ But I have to warn you:

  • When you follow this approach, your list is short. Shorter than the lists you are used to making.

  • You will probably not like it.

  • And you become tempting to add more and make it longer. But don’t do it.

I want you to practice with an extremely short, realistic list, so that you can experience what it is like to break everything down. I need you Feel the difference.

And those things that have not been crossed of your lists before?

They would never be done. 🤷50

The only thing you change here are your expectations. You do not change how productive you are (although in my experience I am more productive with this approach because it creates energy and momentum).

But your list simply matches your reality.

And you can end your day to feel good about everything you held Doing. Because you are staring at a list that has been completely checked. ✅

Once you have set this process, you can Planning intensive Session with me, so that we can really optimize your schedule, think about your energy and the most productive way for you to work, and we take the momentum that you get and use for the things that are really important to you in this season of life.
