I’m a millennial mom. I have two little girls, 4 years old and 2.5 years old, and a baby boy. And I’m a blogger. I fall into this statistic.
I did a bit of research and lots of phone interviews with other millennial blogging moms. And I finally got to the bottom of this.
The top three reasons why millennial moms are all starting blogs is fascinating, and it may prompt you to join in on this amazing online blogging party.
Think about these reasons while you go about your day today. And realize that the future online business scene is quickly changing. These up and coming mommies are not your average ‘mommy bloggers.’

Millennial Moms Grew Up With The Online World – It’s Natural
Millennials are those born in the early 1980’s – 2000’s. They grew up with the internet, instant access to information, with cheap cell phones and picture messages. They started social media sites like Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat and Pinterest.
The millennials are growing up and starting to have children. And these mommies are hyper connected to all the above mentioned social media sites.
They regularly post the cute pictures of their babies on Instagram and throw Pinterest style parties. Social media is second nature to them.
They are unafraid to be vocal with the world and share their advice. They are already active online – it is only natural that they start blogging to make money from what they already do daily.
Millennial Moms Are Too Smart and Passionate
Millennial moms are smart. They are educated.
“Since 1982, more bachelor’s degrees have been earned in the United States by women than by men.[1][2] Women now also earn the majority of master’s degrees and doctoral degrees in the U.S.[2] ” According to a study by the Pew Research Center and Mitch McConnell in 2014.
Because of our grandmothers, we want to be stay at home moms, and because of our own mothers, we want to be in the workforce.
Many millennial women have received an education and have become mothers. And if they decided to stay at home raising their children, they have searched for a creative outlet to continue to exercise their brains. They have turned to blogging. But it’s more than just blogging as you may be familiar with it, today these women are starting their own online business.
And to those millennial moms that work part or full time. They have also turned to starting their online businesses.
Building an online platform is essential today if you want to grow in any type of entrepreneurial venture.
These millennial mothers are passionate about taking care of their children and their families. But they are also invested in themselves.
Because a strong mother builds a strong family.
It Has Never Been Cheaper To Work From Home
When in history has it been possible for mothers to start a business making thousands from home that costs under $10 a month to start? If you know how to post on Facebook, pin on Pinterest and can type an email – you can start a blog.
Unlike a direct sales business, there is no need to host parties, or hold inventory, or even tap your friends for profit. You have the entire world at your fingertips.
Blogging allows you to be a mom while still passionately and productively use your education.
Millennial moms are smart. And they know that those followers on their social media accounts are valuable.
Those are the people that already love you and read our content. You have already built an audience and you may not even realize it.
When you start your blog and build your online business, you already have an audience to market to.
It’s an amazing time to live in!
