Love you past your body
Writing:
You are completely beautiful, my dearest;
There is no mistake in you. Song of Solomon 4: 7
Dive into …
Have you looked in the mirror and did you start smiling at what you saw?
I had that moment yesterday. For the first time in a long time I did not choose why my legs are so thin, my breasts hang low and my shoulders so wide. No, I looked at myself and really loved what I saw.
But the thing is that I have not changed my body. There were no clothes at the top to cover it, no makeup to emphasize the strengths, no jewelry to make my skin look out of the sun. There was nothing of that. It was only me in my nakedness with underwear on, stood in front of the mirror, which admired every inch of mine.
Then it touched me, it was God who changed how I saw myself. It spent time in his word and was founded by the sweet words he continues to speak. It was the openness of my mind to accept the truth so that I can see and understand the fullness of who I am.
Insight into your identity in Christ with these printables
God has made us anxious and beautifully. Psalms 139: 14
He made us complex and designed to help for others in this world. Ephesians 2:10
God gave us bodies to protect and use our mind to win souls on this earth. 1 Cor 15:44
He reminds us that our bodies are a temple, a place of honor and holy ground. God ensures that we know that our body is his. 1 Cor 6: 19-20
Self -esteem as a mother: three simple ways to improve
Our bodies don’t make us who we are, it’s just our ship. Our bodies are not intended to be transferred by many men, but kept for those who know how to deal with care. Our bodies will not leave us when we leave this earth, only a compilation of dust, clay and breath that will soon leave.
But see, the enemy wishes that we do not fully understand the fullness of ourselves. He wants us to be distracted by our body, obsessed with our body, and be discouraged and are sufficiently defeated to no longer see ourselves as a strong and beautiful spirit that is encapsulated by body.
But God …
God says we are more than our bodies. He sees our shells, external beauty and presentation. He sees us for who we are, deep in our hearts and in our minds.
I have always had the feeling that my mind was beautiful, but my heart always fought to be healthy, whole, safe. So on this day I realized that I no longer allowed the enemy to distort my opinion, but that God healed my heart and released my vision so that I can see the true beauty and light that radiates from my heart and spirit.
I hope you start to see that you are completely beautiful and without mistakes for God too. Because when you really love someone, even their shortcomings are beautiful and are worthy of grace. That’s how God sees you!
Let’s pray …
Heavenly Father, I pray that every person who reads this devotional today is blessed by the gift you gave me this week. I pray that every woman who has never felt like enough or good enough, you will look to open their eyes in the same way. Help us Lord to see ourselves as you see us. Help us to dig deep enough in ourselves and in your word to see the beauty and light that you have planted in us. Holy Spirit, warn us when the enemy tries to distort our view on ourselves and give us the eyes of God, so that we can see ourselves further than our bodies and ourselves can treat ourselves in the way you do with kindness and softness.
In Jesus name, Amen!
