“Yes” against God
Create a pure heart in me, O God, and Renew a steadfast spirit in me. Psalm 51:10
Lord, there is a tug of war for control over the spirit of my grandchild. They know the truth of you and your word, but they feel the attraction of their own will and wishes. Struggles and challenges hit them off their feet. It is a struggle to give you their attitude, decisions and desires to you as the Lord of their lives.
I pray that you will chase the heart of my grandchild with persistent love. Unveiling the mystery that joy and blessing come against you through every “yes”. Give them endurance to print due to harsh conditions. Keep them stable in faith so that they can pray and wait patiently for you to work out things. Fill them through your mind with compassion for both their friends and enemies. May they love you and trust whatever comes out. Amen.
Safe for bows
Hold me safely against the traps set by culprits, From the bows they have laid for me. Psalm 141: 9
Lord, My grandchild is growing up in challenging times. More than ever, evil is celebrated well and goodness is seen as bad. Children are bombed with destructive messages and temptations every hour of the day. Countless voices will put them under pressure to live for themselves and refuse you as the Lord and Creator of all. They are vulnerable to deception, and they need your powerful love to keep them safely in you.
Help my grandchild to recognize the enemy’s plans to distort what is true and good. Give them strength to resist the influence of those who would reject their hearts from you. Let them understand the impact of their thinking, choices and behavior. Trust trust in the Bible as the perfect and life -shaped words of God. Protect the mind and heart of my grandchild so that they trust you forever. Amen.
Does our walk match our conversation?
But among you there should not even be a touch of sexual immorality, or of any form of impurity, or of greed, because these His inappropriate for God’s holy people. Ephesians 5: 3
Lord, we can say that we want to follow a healthy diet, but the snacks and candy in our pantry tell a different story! We connect to a budget, but our bank statement shows our actual priorities in black and white. Our browsing history, film ticket tubs and messages on social media reveal the true focus of our thoughts. We are confronted with the question, I do Live what I believe?
I pray that my grandchild will be warm in their love for you. Let their habits and decisions reflect their dedication to Jesus. Give them the courage to live on your word when the culture says everything goes.
Keep them pure in spirit, spirit and heart while they follow you without a compromise. May their loving, loving obedience shine you light to the world. Amen.
